We are the bridge between the global diaspora and the sacred Osun Osogbo Festival — one of the world's most extraordinary living spiritual traditions.
OsunOsogbo Tours was founded by a Yoruba-heritage entrepreneur who had spent years watching diaspora Nigerians — from London, New York, Toronto, São Paulo — try and fail to meaningfully experience the Osun Osogbo Festival. Arriving without context, without guidance, without the right access.
We built OsunOsogbo Tours to change that. Not as a tour operator, but as cultural custodians — people who understand both what this festival means spiritually, and what international travellers need to experience it safely, comfortably, and deeply.
Our promise is simple: you show up. We handle everything else. And when you leave Osogbo, you leave with something you can't buy — a genuine connection to one of the world's oldest living spiritual traditions.
"The Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove is not a monument. It is a living entity. Every tree, every shrine, every current in that river is part of a conversation that has been happening for five centuries."— Our Lead Cultural Guide, Osogbo Native
Held annually in August, the Osun Osogbo Festival draws hundreds of thousands of worshippers, artists, and travellers to the ancient capital of Osun State. At its heart is the veneration of Osun — the Yoruba orisha of love, fertility, and the sacred river.
The festival's climax is the procession to the river, led by the Arugba — a young woman chosen to carry the sacred calabash — accompanied by the Ataoja of Osogbo (the king), priests, masquerades, and thousands of devotees. It is, by any measure, one of the most extraordinary ceremonies on Earth.
For the diaspora, it is often a homecoming. For international travellers, it is a revelation. For first-time visitors to Nigeria, it is consistently described as a life-changing introduction to the country.
The Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 — one of only a handful of sacred groves in West Africa still fully functioning as a place of active spiritual practice.
Those drawn to connect with living ancestral energy, sacred ritual, and the spiritual forces of the Yorùbá tradition in their most authentic and powerful form. If you have felt the call of Òṣun, this is where you answer it.
Diaspora Nigerians and international travellers hungry for genuine cultural immersion — not observation from a distance, but real participation and understanding of one of the world's oldest living traditions.
Those already walking the path who seek direct connection with Babaláwo, Ìyánífá, Ìyálòrìṣà, and the custodians of this living tradition at its sacred source in Osogbo, Nigeria.
